Good to Know
General Certification Information
A few things to keep in mind as you consider certification options.
Validity Period
Most CPR and first aid certifications are valid for two years from the date of completion. We recommend scheduling renewal training before your certification expires to maintain continuous readiness.
Blended Learning
Some certification pathways offer a blended learning option where participants complete online coursework before attending a shorter in-person skills session. This can reduce on-site training time. Availability varies by course.
Instructor-Led Format
All of our training is instructor-led and hands-on. Participants practice on professional manikins and AED trainers under direct instructor guidance. This format provides the confidence that comes only from real practice.
Certification Cards
Upon successful completion, participants receive a certification card. Depending on the course pathway, this may be a digital eCard, a printed card, or both. Details are confirmed during the booking process.
Guidance
Choosing the Right Certification
The best certification depends on who you are training and why. Here is a quick guide to help you narrow it down.
Workplace Compliance
Many employers require employees to hold current CPR and first aid certifications, particularly in industries where OSHA regulations apply. A comprehensive first aid/CPR/AED course typically satisfies these requirements.
Suggested pathway: Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED or Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED
Childcare Requirements
State licensing boards often require childcare providers to maintain current pediatric CPR and first aid certifications. The specific requirements vary by state, so we recommend confirming your state's standards.
Suggested pathway: Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED (includes pediatric content)
Healthcare Settings
Healthcare professionals and clinical staff typically need BLS certification. This course meets the requirements for most hospitals, clinics, and medical training programs.
Suggested pathway: BLS (Basic Life Support)
Personal & Family Readiness
For individuals, families, and community groups who want practical skills without specific compliance requirements, a CPR/AED course provides focused, valuable training.
Suggested pathway: CPR/AED or Heartsaver CPR AED
